FAQ
Is KEEZI compatible with my piano?
KEEZI works with virtually all digital pianos, keyboards, and MIDI controllers that have a USB or MIDI output.
If your piano doesn’t have USB or MIDI, you can still use KEEZI in to explore scales, chords, and animations — but certain features that require MIDI won't work like the real time visualizer or chord recognition.
Check your piano’s manual to see if it supports "MIDI over USB" for the best experience!
Does KEEZI work with acoustic (non-digital) pianos?
Yes!
Even if your piano is fully acoustic and doesn’t have any USB or MIDI connections, you can still use KEEZI’s scale visualizers, chord tools, and animations.
You’ll manually set your keyboard range, and assign each light to each key on your piano during setup.
What is included with KEEZI?
Your KEEZI kit includes:
- KEEZI core device
- Full-length LED strip for 88 Key pianos. The strip can be cut to fit any size piano.
- Power supply and USB cables
- Mounting brackets
- Optional KEENEKT adapter (for connecting KEEZI to computers and tablets)
Everything you need to get started is in the box!
What is KEENEKT and do I need it?
KEENEKT is an optional USB adapter that lets you connect KEEZI directly to computers and tablets (like Windows, Mac, or iPad).
You'll need KEENEKT if you want to integrate KEEZI with apps like Synthesia, Ableton, FL Studio, or other MIDI software on your PC or tablet.
If you're only using KEEZI with your piano, you don't need KEENEKT.
Why do I need KEENEKT? Why can't I just connect KEEZI directly to a PC or tablet with a USB cable?
KEEZI and your computer or tablet are both designed to act as USB hosts — they are built to control USB devices, not connect directly to each other.
Because of this, simply using a regular USB cable between KEEZI and a computer or tablet won’t work.
KEENEKT acts as a USB bridge, allowing two host devices (like KEEZI and your PC) to communicate properly.
If you want to use KEEZI with MIDI software like Synthesia, Ableton, or FL Studio, KEENEKT is required to complete the connection.
How hard is it to set up KEEZI?
Setup is simple and takes about 10 minutes:
- Mount the LED strip to your piano using the included brackets
- Connect KEEZI to your piano (USB or MIDI)
- Power it on and follow the on-screen setup wizard
You'll be ready to start visualizing music and exploring scales in no time!
Can I customize the LED colors and effects?
Absolutely!
You can fully customize:
- LED brightness
- Color palettes for notes, scales, and chords
- MIDI channel colors for DAW integration
Create a setup that matches your music, mood, or performance style.

It’s a powerful tool for beginners, self-taught players, and anyone wanting to improve faster through visual learning.
